In June of this year we will do a second major member survey. The original was done in June
of 2017 and in June of 2019 we did a quick baseline. This survey will be more complete and
will focused on net promoter measures versus just satisfaction. Please help us by completing
the survey when you see it.
The Board has resized itself over more than two years now. It is a far more strategic board
because that is the best role for the board to play and because talent has been added at an Area
Leader level to take on more of the tactical items the Board previously owned. Please support
your Area Leaders and think of them as your gateway to the Board of Directors. It is easy to
criticize any group, but the Board has a challenging job, limited resources and time, and is
working on a fully volunteer basis. I talk to peer groups in other associations and non-prof-
its. Our Board performs quite well compared to all that I have benchmarked. Please thank an
NPAworldwide volunteer if you see or talk to one. Much deserved and appreciated.
Let me close on this…no one calls each other on the phone anymore, or at a minimum, it hap-
pens with far less regularity than when I was a fresh face in the industry. I would be pleased to
hear from you at any time about your ideas and needs. I am at my desk and behind a computer
lots, so a call is usually a good interruption.
