PARTNER SUCCESS STORIES Make a Deposit Even after 17 years in the recruiting saddle, I’m still amazed at the power of our network if you really engage yourself in it. I’m a big fan of partnering and building relationships with all of the great recruiters on First Interview. I don’t ever dread having to split a fee, but I am always excited at making a deal with someone where everyone feels great and we can celebrate the hard work together. I know that when you fully engage with the right intentions, the Network will come through time and time again. I have spoken to folks who try to use the network to only benefit themselves. Kind of “a me first” approach. I have seen lots of those folks become frustrated or drop out of the network later, basically with a feeling of “it doesn’t work for me.” That’s because you have to make deposits along with withdrawals. Give in order to receive. Once you do this, you’ll be surprised how much the network will help you with your needs. We all come across difficult searches where a B Company wants an A player in San Fran- cisco, NYC or a small market no candidate zone like El Paso or Albuquerque. And of course, usually the total comp will be like 110k and the client needs solid med device ex- perience but no one making over 85k please. Sound familiar? Yet, I know folks will bend over backwards to help you look good in front of your client. This is just another reason I love the network. You’ve got the strength and power of the numbers backing you up. And when people know they’ll be rewarded they’ll work hard for you. I was asked to share a story of a time where someone went above and beyond to help source a candidate and make a split happen. This is hard for me because as you all know, I’m shy and not much of a talker. But I decided to come out of my shell and contribute…. Pause for laughter. Ok, the real reason this is hard is because it happens all the time and so it’s hard to single out one person. I decided to choose a recent example to share since it just occurred. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Andrei Hintze on searches in Fl and VA with a relatively new client. I am trying to become their go to recruiter and so these searches were important to solidify my value. Andrei engaged and stood by my side through some really strange twists and turns and some profile tweaks along the way. At one point, I was concerned the manager we were working with might be replaced. And we had to wait 2 weeks for a final interview to happen that was supposed to be a day off. Andrei assisted in keeping the candidate engaged throughout the process. 4 WWW.RSSM.BIZ | WWW.RSSM.BIZ
