I embarked on my journey as Volunteer Coordinator / Secretary at West Hatch Wildlife Centre in October 2019 and what an inspiring journey it has been so far .
The staff at the Centre are very welcoming , friendly and passionate about what they do . With everyone sharing the same ultimate goal of ensuring the welfare of the animals in our care , it is a real privilege to be part of the team .
I have found my role as Volunteer Coordinator to be very rewarding ; not only does it give me an opportunity to stay connected with the beauty of the natural world around us and to witness wondrous species being brought back to strength , but it has also given me an opportunity to meet amazing people who truly make a difference here at West Hatch – our volunteers . I personally feel that spending time with a volunteer is as grounding as watching the nature around us . Because they are truly remarkable people who give of their time so freely , their selflessness and kindness personally warms my soul .
Thank you to the entire team – staff and volunteers , for making my experience so positive . I am very much looking forward to continuing my journey .
