will not be speaking too much about annual conferences for investigative journalists , which are organized by RPDI . One should visit them to feel the vibe . For us , it ’ s like a holiday we ’ ve been waiting for all year . The program is so full of various master classes and workshops that sometimes you just want to be cloned . I will say in general : RPDI ’ s contribution to my professional growth is invaluable and I hope it will be endless because in investigative journalism you should always develop , learn and adopt experience .»
Lyudmyla Yavorska , head of NGO Byuro zhurnalistskyh rozsliduvan « Spetstema » (« Special topic » bureau of journalist investigations )
of my investigations « Tayemnytsi internativskyh mohyl » ( Secrets of orphanage ’ s graves ) I was doing with the support of RPDI . Also , it was an awesome experience of cooperation with the organization ’ s in-house lawyers and editors and it was a great opportunity to get to the bottom of it . Some topics require lots of time and effort , you can ’ t work a day or two on them . Thanks to the support of RPDI , I had a chance to finish this difficult topic .»
Anna Andrievska , freelance journalist
the moment when I almost despaired that the fight against misinformation and fakes could have a positive effect , the project of the RPDI and foundation Demokratychne suspilstvo Skhid ( Democratic Society East ) appeared in my life . My colleague Anna Horpynych and I won the contest of publications on counteracting misinformation with our material on the disastrous consequences of Dmytro Firtash ’ s chemical business in the occupied Crimea , Sumy , and other regions of Ukraine . This win for me became evidence that my despair was only « a moment of weakness ».»
