* An important precedent for the legal practice of RPDI was the case with the accreditation termination for the investigative journalism agency Slidstvo . Info . The reason for such a decision of the Committee on Freedom of Speech of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was « the media does not meet the purpose of accreditation .»

This decision could have created a precedent for serious interference with freedom of speech and a misinterpretation that accreditation obliges the media to produce materials from the Verkhovna Rada .
The basis for the inquiries of the press service of the committee about such materials was considered to be the law Pro obovyazkovyy prymirnyk dokumentiv ( On the obligatory copy of documents ). However , it « regulates information related to the replenishment of the national information fund of Ukraine » and has nothing to do with accreditation . Due to the reaction of the broader community , including the head of the legal department of the RPDI Oksana Maksymenyuk , the accreditation was renewed and the decision was found to be erroneous .

State Bureau of Investigations interference in a case of arson of a car of Skhemy

* At the end of the year , the arson case of the editorial car of the Skhemy : koruptsiya v detalyah ( Schemes : Corruption in Detail ) program received an unexpected turn : the State Bureau of Investigations investigators went to court to gain temporary access to all case materials . The Kramatorsk City Court granted the request in full , which meant that the State Bureau of Investigations received a carte blanche to seize these documents , both copies , and originals . The lawyers appealed against the decision , as they assumed that the activity of investigators was connected with the imminent completion of the pre-trial investigation and could destroy the case of arson .
