During a quarantine , we were receiving more than 200 messages daily from people who don ’ t have time or skills to fact check information but want to know the truth and share checked facts . People were subscribing friends and relatives to us . One reader wrote to us : « I subscribed my mother , grandmother , and girlfriend because even I believed in some fakes .»

* Headline figures and results :

* The campaign audience grew up to 48 thousand subscribers and an average reach equals 2 mln users only on Facebook monthly .

* The team of Po toi bik novyn ( Behind the News ) became a winner of an award Pirania roku ( Piranha of a Year ) in the « Best anti-covid communications » nominee .

* Chat-bot was designed to help a lot during a boom of requests to check information about COVID-19 .

* The research was also conducted on how coronavirus misinformation is evolving which led to the development of an online manual Po toi bik pandemii : yak feyky ta manipulyatsii atakuvaly ukrayintsiv ( Behind the Pandemics : How Fakes and Manipulations Attacked Ukrainians ). There one can find everything about types and formats of fakes and manipulations , channels of their distribution , trends in the development of misinformation about COVID-19 , and why understanding these trends is like an information vaccination .

* Apart from 300 refutations about the coronavirus , the team debunked more than 530 fakes .
