Short Ocean Pointscore Series( SOPS)
• Courses start and finish in Broken Bay, covering the waters between Terrigal to the north and Long Reef to the south. Held on Saturday over Spring and Summer. SOPS offers crew a competitive daylight offshore racing experience and preparation for longer offshore events in the Coastal Pointscore Series.
• Race formats include a variety of windward / leeward, offshore triangular and passage style courses up to 8 + nm offshore.
• Race length: average: 4-5hrs
• Race start time: Varies depending on the race. From 1000hrs.
Coastal Pointscore Series
• Features long offshore races along the east coast of Australia between February and July. Each race is unique, providing opportunities to develop navigational, weather, and boatmanship skills.
• Races may finish at destinations such as Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Bird Island, or return to Pittwater.
• Course lengths range from 18 to 230 nautical miles.( Category 3 events). Start times vary depending on the destination.
Two-Handed Sailing
• Most club series offer two-handed racing options.
• Racing may include both Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker formats, inshore on Pittwater or offshore events.
• Several Regatta events also feature exclusive Two-Handed Divisions.
