YACHT RACING
The Club’ s sailing program reflects this reputation, offering a calendar of high-quality, exciting, fun and social events in a pristine environment. Our professional event administrators ensure that our yacht racing is innovative, safe and sailor-focused, with a varied program that includes inshore and offshore racing, twohanded sailing events, feature social events, overnight events and more on offer all year round.
During daylight saving the schedule expands to include the Women’ s Tuesday Twilight Series and a Thursday Twilight Series open to all sailors. Most races offer both spinnaker and non-spinnaker racing with a variety of Rating Certificates and scoring options from Scratch, IRC, ORC, PHS, OMR and Pursuit.
Sailing at the club is open to members and visitors of all ages and abilities. The Club actively promotes safe sailing and implements initiatives designed to minimise risks to sailors and boats.
Crew are always welcome to join RPAYC racing. An online crew and boat register helps to match boat owners with crew, whether for casual participation or a full series. Crew are recommended to arrive at least 1 hour before the scheduled race start and are required to register for a“ Sail-Pass” for each race. Issued by Australian Sailing, the Sail-Pass provides personal insurance coverage.
