In the meantime , Jindarra ( Matt and Jo ) had left at ( I ’ m guessing 5 am ) to go ahead and sail direct to Broughton Island from Pittwater as some sort of self-appointed scouting party .

Their first report stated “ Broughton island is still in the same spot , 6 boats at the moment ”. We were all greatly relieved to know that Broughton Island was still where it always was and also , 2 days before we were due to arrive , whether there was room for us to anchor .
The rest of us decided to have an early dinner that night at the Newcastle CYC .
