ENDURO-X — one of the world ’ s fastest growing adrenaline sports — will be held in an arena setting for the first time in South Africa , at the Royal Show this year .
Enduro-X ( pronounced Endurocross ) is a combination of Supercross , trials , and Enduro racing held over a course of obstacles designed to test an off-road motorcycle rider ’ s stamina , skill and speed . The course typically contains logs , rocks , sand , pipes , pallets , tyres and other off-road obstacles , which riders need to negotiate in less than 12 minutes . An Enduro-X course is faster than a trials course but slower than a Supercross course .
The course at the Royal Show has been built by South Africa ’ s multiple Moto-X champion Brett Redman , and a number of top brands are sponsoring the build to ensure that the course is world class , says Powasol Managing Director Klint Mills .
