Recipes To Fall For

Fried Apples

3 eggs

1/2 tsp. salt

2 1/4 tbsp. sugar

4 1/2 oz. milk

1 1/4 tbs baking powder

3 & 1/3 cups flour

1 ½ tsp. of nutmeg

1 ½ tbsp. of cinnamon

20 apples

Powdered sugar

Instructions

Peel and core apples and cut into round slices or slice into wedges, whichever you prefer. Beat eggs and gradually add all ingredients (except apples). Beat until smooth batter. Dip sliced apples into batter and fry in hot oil until lightly browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Pour leftover batter into a measuring cup and gently pour into hot oil. Fry until lightly browned, drain on a plate lined with a few paper towels, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve warm.

Useful tip:

Need something to sprinkle the powdered sugar with? Use a metal tea strainer with a long handle. Fill one side with powdered sugar, close, then lightly shake the strainer over the item you wish to dust.
