“I like math, and I’m excellent at it,”
Faizah said. “I also like helping others.
So my mom suggested tutoring since
that combines [my] two interests.”
Faizah is enrolled in AP math and plans
to continue in AP throughout her high
school career. While some may struggle with the subject, Faizah says that
math is “calming.”
“It involves a lot of thinking. You always come out with the same answer,”
said Faizah, who is currently building
a website for her tutoring service
and hopes to help many clients.
A DITR member since January
2015, Faizah added that DITR is a
great experience, and she’s able to
share her life with her peers.
“It’s like therapy, but your parents
don’t have to hear it,” Faizah said.
“You share how you feel about
things. Our mentors don’t share it
because it’s for our Cluster group.”
Since she joined DITR, Faizah says
that she’s more outgoing. She anticipates forming great friendships
with DITR girls, and gaining new
experiences. Also, she is continuously learning about what it means
to be a Priceless Princess.
“I think it means knowing who you
are, and knowing your value,” Fai36 | Royal & Radiant Magazine
zah said. “It means developing a
relationship with [God], because
once you develop that relationship
and know who you are, God can
help you through certain circumstances and situations. He loves
you more than anyone in the
world.”
Faizah added that her relationship
with Christ is imperative, and it is a
daily walk.
“I have to set aside time to pray
and talk to God,” Faizah said. “I’m
becoming stronger. My mom helps
me because she’s had a relationship with God for a long time.”
Part of a military family, Faizah has
lived in Washington, Michigan, and
now Georgia. She said that she is
ready to settle down during her
high school years. As she continues to grow, Faizah adds that she
knows that she is saved and secure.
“You should [always] run toward
God because it makes things
better,” Faizah said. “I have friends
who tell me that they felt like they
were missing something, so they
would do things to get attention
and feel valuable. But then they
developed a relationship with God,
and now they feel whole.”
Faizah said she feels secure because of her parents love, and
offered the following advice to her
peers:
“Be real, and true to yourself.
More people like you when you’re
honest and truthful.”
