Tourist Arrivals in September

The number of foreign tourists who visited Nepal in September this year increased by 11% to 45,782 as compared to the same
month last year. In August, visitor arrivals from China grew by 66.6% compared to the same month of 2010. Similarly, the arrivals
from Japan, Singapore and Thailand also increased by 21.5%, 30.3% and 10.1% respectively. However, the tourist arrivals from
Malaysia and South Korea decreased by 32.8% and 29.4% respectively. Arrivals from India increased by 24.5% and from Pakistan
and Sri Lanka by 23.6% and 75.4% respectively. However the arrivals from Bangladesh decreased by 34.2% compared to the same
month last year. Arrivals from the UK, Italy and the Netherlands saw positive growths of 0.5%, 51.4 % and 13.4% respectively. But
arrivals from Germany, France and Spain declined by 3.1%, 9.8%, and 6% respectively. Arrivals from Australia, Canada and USA
also registered growths of 2.8%, 11.7 % and 4.8% respectively. But arrivals from New Zealand went down by 22.2 % compared to
