The Club ’ s facilities and the excellent waterfront allow to teach sailing to young people in a fun and safe environment , running group courses as well as private coaching sessions all throughout the year and at all levels .
Children from six years old upwards learn to sail and perfect their skills in a variety of different types of boats , including Optimists , Open Skiffs , RS Quests , Lasers , 420s , 29ers and 49ers .
The success of the program speaks for itself , both in the number of young sailors visible at the club every day of the week and the number of RBYC youngsters being selected to represent the State in National championships . The Club ’ s Optimist and 420 squads are now amongst the best in the Nation and Worldwide .
