Rowan Yarns Digital Magazine Rowan Winter Newsletter 2018 | Seite 2
Hello and welcome to the Winter issue of our quarterly newsletter!
We are in the midst of our 40 th Anniversary celebrations and it really
is shaping up to be a season to remember! A special launch event in
London paved the way for a very busy schedule of 40 th events all over
the world! With even more events planned for the next few months,
we are delighted that so many of you have joined the party and are
celebrating with us – thank you! Needless to say, all this had led to a
lot of birthday cake being consumed and we’re not done yet…yum!
Continuing in the celebratory spirit, in this issue Katherine Lymer
brings you a special bumper edition of our regular ‘How To’ with a
focus on techniques used in Magazine 64, including the Ruby story.
Katie Calvert brings us the final part of ‘A Yarn’s Tale’, looking at
the all-important launch stage. We have thoroughly enjoyed Katie’s
charming series charting the journey of a Rowan knit and hope you
have too. We catch up with two Rowan retailers who share some
insights into their lovely stores – ‘Ippikin’ based in Much Wenlock
in the UK and ‘Cast-on Cottage and Needlcraft Garden’ based in
Georgia, USA.
In other news, Rowan have recently joined forces with ‘Knitting For
All’ who offer award-winning knitting classes for all age groups. We
talk to founder Kerry Kimber to find out more about her passion
for teaching, what inspires her and her hopes for this exciting new
partnership.
Finally, this month marks 100 years since the end of World War One
and so we wanted to take the opportunity to reflect, remember
and commemorate what was such an important part of history.
Rosee Woodland talks to knitter Karen Cox about a wonderful
commemorative knitting project that she has designed in Rowan
Felted Tweed.
As always, we hope you enjoy this newsletter! We would love to hear
your feedback on the new collections and so do please visit our pages
on Facebook and Twitter to leave your comments. You can follow us
on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and of course go to our website
www.knitrowan.com to see what we are up to during the season ahead
and to keep up to date with the anniversary events!
