Whether you’ re a local rediscovering the mother city or a visitor experiencing it for the first time, the Aquarium offers a rare opportunity to encounter marine species found nowhere else on Earth, all in one immersive space.
For those resolved to try something new, the Two Oceans Aquarium’ s Discover Scuba Diving experience offers an unforgettable adventure. Designed for beginners, this unique PADI experience introduces visitors to the magic of scuba diving in a safe, closely supervised environment. After a short theory session, participants dive into the spectacular I & J Ocean Exhibit on the same day, sharing the water with stingrays, rehabilitated sea turtles, musselcrackers, and a variety of fish native to the southern tip of Africa. Qualified divers can take things further by diving alongside ragged-tooth sharks in the Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Exhibit, or immersing themselves in the enchanting Kelp Forest Exhibit, where giant kelp fronds sway and endemic fish thrive. With the Aquarium’ s PADI Dive School, this year’ s resolutions can be the most exciting yet.
Another must-do activity is the Aquarium’ s popular daily feeding times. Watching sharks, stingrays, penguins, and more enjoy their meals is an exciting opportunity to learn more about your favourite animals. Highlights include shark feeds on Saturdays at 12h00, and stingray feeds in the I & J Ocean Exhibit on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12h00. African penguins are fed every day at 11h30 and 14h30.
For a truly personal encounter, the Penguin Experience allows visitors aged eight and older to come face-toface with Northern rockhopper penguins. Guided by a Penguin Keeper, this 75-minute experience offers insight into the penguins’ individual stories and daily care. With full Aquarium access included, it’ s the perfect way to connect with some of the ocean’ s cutest inhabitants.
