Chris Krog is an acclaimed South African wildlife photographer. His photography can be seen in numerous birding publications and his crisp, clear images are evidence of his many years behind the lens. After working in corporate banking for many years, he took up photography, which has become his passion. If he is not taking photos from the comfort of his old 4x4, he is camped out in his self-constructed bird hide for hours at a time, snapping away, to be able to offer us the beautiful photography that is common to his style. When not out in the field, Chris is most comfortable photographing the birds that frequent his 'bird restaurant' which is aptly called 'Paw-paw Inn'. If you enjoy his fantastic photographs, email Chris at [email protected], he'd love to hear your comments. The pictures below are of the Purple Crested Turaco which regurlary visits 'Paw-paw Inn'. Many of his photographs can be found in publications such as Colourful Birds of South Africa, Birdlife South Africa and S.A. Birds. Find Chris on Facebook where many more of his photographs can be viewed. Chris uses a Canon 7D camera with a 500mm telephoto lens and a Canon 60D camera with a 100x400mm zoom lens.
