Round the Bend August 2014 | Page 2

ell, well, six months of intensive magazine publishing under my belt and what a fantastic learning curve it has been. In this issue, our birthday issue, it is time to give thanks and reflect on all the wonderful articles, photographs and artistic talent that have been submitted by the various masters in their fields.

Special mention needs to go to Chris Krog for his world-class wildlife photography. Every time I open the pictures he sends through for publication, I cannot help but stare in absolute amazement and say wow! The calibre of his images is superb and this wonderful gift is one of the highlights of the magazine. I would also like to thank our food correspondent, Ancilla Delicia whose name works in perfect harmony with all the delicious recipes she sends to RTB.

Another highly popular feature is the motoring section of the magazine generated by our motoring correspondent Vusi Mulambo who has a penchant for fast women, faster cars and telling it like it is. The title of his column 'My way or the Highway!' is indicative of what you can expect. Whether you resonate with him on not - he knows cars.

Thanks to all the wine farms for their visually beautiful articles and special mention needs to go to Cloof Wine Farm up the west coast who hosts the Rocking the Daisies concert. They will be supplying two of our readers with free tickets to the concert in this issue. Find the competitions page and get entering!

We'd like to thank all the musicians who have graced our glossy pages and they include Arno Carstens, Jeremy Loops, Josie Field, Farryl Purkiss and Red Huxley.

And, let's not forget our wonderful lineup of artists whose paintings and artworks can be found in top collections and museums around the world. These artists have included Glennray Tutor, Johannes Wessmark, Doug Bloodworth, Pedro Campos, Gregory Thielker and Javier Arizabalo who have all showcased their truly amazing talent.

Thanks to one and all for their contributions that have made this magazine the visually appealing masterpiece that it is. We look forward to many more bumper issues of Round the Bend with new and exciting guests, writers and contributors.

RTB has climbed the long uphill and now that we've reached the top, we plan to race headlong down the other side with the wind rushing through our hair. Good reading, we'll see you in October.
