You can find this exerpt from the story The Burn Journals, written by Brent Runyun, on page 19. It's not until this short conversation between the main character, Brent, and a classmate of his that the story really takes off. Brent is worried about his parents being angry with him because of an accident at school. This "accident" included a box of matches and a gym locker. Brent feels like the only way to fix his problem is to committ suicide. He is not being reasonable, something all humans do. We are too "in the moment" and don't slow down when it comes to problem solving.
