President’s Report
Leading up to my
presidency year,
I was warned to
expect a deluge
of
correspondence once I became President.
Well my advisors
certainly got that
one
correct.
Here’s just a few
snippets of what
is
going
on
around the District and overseas –
§ Message from RI President Gary C.K.
Huang, Rotary Voices, Posted on July 1,
2014 by Rotary International
There are many people in this world who need
help and many changes that need to be made.
It can be overwhelming.
Confucius and Rotary share similar ideas, and
one idea from Confucius is that “It is better to
light one single candle than to sit and curse
the dark.” To me, this means that we shouldn’t
lose hope and do nothing.

Sharing your love for Rotary will recruit new
members and keep current ones, and be the
action that lights a candle.
§ The Rotary Club of Vinegar Hill became the
newest club in the District when it received its

Sunday afternoons at Rouse Hill Shopping
Centre, at The Griddle Restaurant, The
meetings are conducted as business
meetings of approximately 45 minutes and the
majority of club business outside the meeting
is conducted through the website forum,
social media and email.
§ District Governor
Korhan Atilla (D2430Turkey) has extended a warm welcome to all
Australian & New Zealand Rotarians who
might be visiting Turkey for the centennial
memorial day of the Dardanelle war to
participate in one of the many events being
arranged by his fellow Rotarians during this
time.
§ Over 200 people were on hand on Tuesday
29th when Ugandan doctors Drs. Pasquine
and Adebiyi Ogunsanya were guest speakers
of the Rotary Club of Woy Woy. Drs. Pasquine
and Adebiyi had just attended the
International AIDS Conference in Melbourne.
They spoke about their work with Alive
Medical Services (AMS) organisation in
Uganda. The meeting was attended by
members of over 16 Rotary clubs from the
Central Coast, Sydney, Blue Mountains and
Raymond Terrace. Also present were Senator
