Rotary Club of Northlakes Toukley In Touch April 2014 | Page 3

From The President Hello fellow Rotarians and Friends Another busy month has gone and I wish you all blessings for a happy and safe Easter. Congratulations to Mitch and his helpers for a wonderful Race Day. The SES Wyong was our focus this year and we are able to report that 3 items from their wish list were added from the funds raised on the day. The work at the Iris Foundation Centre is continuing, with much thanks to Owen for his hands on skills. Opening day is in June with more information coming soon. Tom Hagen, seen here with President Gloria, eloquently told us of his National Youth Science Forum experience We also had Julia and Tom talking of their Youth experiences on Exchange and NYSF and their visit to our club was both delightful and entertaining. Hearing how these Youth programmes help our youth step outside the square was wonderful. The RI Convention is on in June with a Cararroo Stand in Friendship House. Members, please talk to Maurie in regards to what help he may require with setting up and assistance on the stand. Not only will this highlight Cararroo but Northlakes Toukley Rotary Club as well. Our Annual Hunter Valley Pilgrimage is on the 6th April. See you on the bus. Returning exchange student Julia Bradfield led us through her exciting year.
