Rotaract membership is a journey of experiences and professional growth. The reasons for which we join Rotaract vary and so does our impact in Rotaract, our various communities as well Rotary International in general. Therefore, it is important to view Rotaract membership as a journey of positive experiences and various professional growth processes that Strategically place us personally and career-wise to positively impact the communities we reside in and the world as a whole. Talk to people and do it appropriately and genuinely. Know your club members, but also go a little bit outside your Club and know other partners in services. Make time to know and also remember the people within the societies you do community work as well as those you call upon for support as far as corporate organizations are concerned. How one approaches Rotaract or Rotary is so much relevant to how they approach life in general. If not, then I have to believe there is a certain learning opportunity therein considering the goals of Rotaract very much build on this very notion, say; professional and leadership skills development, dignity, respect and honest collaboration. My journey up until now has been a bundle of roses and a few thorns. Nonetheless, all have been fundamental in the journey I have taken with the Rotaract club of Kololo. Every good has been a moment to celebrate and every bad a period to reflect over and pivot. Every friend has been a smile to flash and every criticism a chalk writing on the drawing board to ponder over. Try to be as responsible as much as possible and hold yourself as well as everyone around you accountable in A Club within which a member is inducted is an entity all situations regarding Rotaract and Rotary. As Rotaractors and Rotarians, it’s important to be one in person with our respective Clubs, be good by them but it’s also more important to be good by ourselves. You as a person come first before the Club and the Club shall always be there long after you are not anymore so a Clubs membership shouldn’t simply be about numbers or status but mostly how every single individual as a meta-system contributes to the continued sustainability of the Club as a bigger meta- During our journeys, however different, we go through system. a lot of ups and downs, we learn and unlearn a lot of things we meet new people, drop a lot of friends along the way but most importantly learn the value of meaningful networks. We learn to appreciate giving and helping selflessly but also learn that we shall not always have to give just because we should. Don’t give because you are required to but because in that situation, at that particular moment you do genuinely feel like giving and helping. It is far more rewarding and fulfilling inwardly.
