PRESIDENTIAL MESSAGE
First things first, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Let’s all make the next 50 years
of Rotaract even better. Rotaract which simply means Rotary in Action has
grown to cover over 9,000 Clubs spread all over the World since March
1968. This service club for young men and women is indeed dedicated to
community and international service.
As the Rotaract Club of Kololo, this milestone was celebrated all week long.
We had members and guests share their profiles on all our social media
platforms all week long. You will be amazed at the different things that
we have encountered as members of this prestigious organization. Our
mothers, the Rotary Club of Kololo also had us preside over their meeting
on the 12th of March. It truly was a riveting experience. We then wrapped
up the week with a joint Rotary in Action celebration meeting. To all the
Clubs and guests that joined us as we celebrated our 51st anniversary, we
thank you.
March also doubles as the Rotary Water and Sanitation month. As such,
we are celebrating our commitment to create healthier communities by
supplying clean water and sanitation facilities to prevent the spread of
infectious diseases. The guest speakers this month have been inspirational
in. We had one of the Rotarians from our Sponsoring Club, Rotarian Sam
Farouk discuss sustainable sanitation systems in service projects. He
kept referring to the Sanitation Project that the Rotary Club of Kololo was
having the following day. We also had Galen Welsch, Co-founder, JIBU
Company discuss his passion for water as we celebrated World Water Day.
Later this month, we’ll have some Clubs showcase their projects in a Show
and Tell Fellowship. The idea is to have these different Clubs creatively
showcase their different projects. This shall include the achievements,
challenges and the different lessons that we can all pick up.
