As Rotaractors we live and breathe by the 4-Way test while preserving the Goals of Rotaract as we give impact our communities and the • world at large. Don’t spend carelessly. Please! I repeat, don’t spend carelessly just because Rotary says you must give. There is no shame or pain in saying no sometimes or not being able to give. After all it comes from the heart to genuinely give back. Family, personal welfare and work obligations remain important even when you are in Rotaract or Rotary so have a real life outside Rotary. Make friends not partners in crime. Rotaract is not a battle ground. Leave that drama in your personal life, work or family. Rotaract is bigger than you and me, probably even itself. I often see drama unfold in Rotaract circles and I wonder if we often forget what service is all about. Again let’s remain true to the cause of impacting our communities through genuine and meaningful interactions. Let’s be accountable in the small things and big things. Meaningful interactions go as far as mutual understandings between Rotaract clubs and their mother clubs/ sponsoring clubs, corporate sponsors and supporting Rotaract clubs. This here is the essence of crafting and implementing impactful service projects. Often Rotaract clubs fail to account to key entities involved in their club activities or projects. Why this is? I too ask myself often. Yes, we join Rotaract to serve while having a lot of fun and networking but true impactful growth happens when we make meaningful interactions. With fellow Rotaractors, Rotarians, Corporate entities, the youth, the old and under privileged in our communities.
