PPL Engineering Services
Leading the Engineering duty shift team at Gatwick Airport. 11kV Control Engineer( UKPNS) and responsibility of managing the HV network on site, which included two 33kV incoming feeders and almost 80 HV substations.
Confined Space Authorising Authority, Hot Works SAP, Life Safety Systems SAP and Crane AP. Organisation and authorisation of the permit to work and contractor management system.
Operated engineering systems such as Fire alarms systems, BMS, HVAC, Pump stations and Water Treatment Facilities, both foul and surface. This involved fault management and investigation.
Responsible and accountable for engineering incidents and crisis management. I have provided technical input into a variety of scenarios such as severe flooding, electrical fires and utilities service strikes to ensure safety and reduce operational risk.
Provide effective communication between stakeholders including up to 8 engineering teams of technicians and provide duty reports for each period of duty. Lead the 50 + engineering technicians from all engineering department airport wide and the engineering operation( out of core hours) while on duty to ensure operational performance, health & safety and asset maintenance are being adhered to, while
having a designated team focus area of expertise to mentor.

Gatwick Airport Ltd – Project Manager
Delivered planning stage for circa £ 5m HV SCADA replacement project, this included liaising with DNO and other stakeholders to gather information from all HV / LV Substations across site. Provide strategic analysis of SCADA concept & design ensuring an effective solution was delivered for the business.
Effectively negotiate to ensure cost effective use of OPEX and CAPEX budgets as well as delivering the product required to suit business needs.
Responsible for ensuring all governance is adhered to including regular presentation and reporting of current project status to the board.
Implementation of Gatwick Airports £ 1m access control system asset replacement of almost 3000 cylinders across the campus, key allocation and associated governance processes.

Senior Authorised person for Electrical LV network including Inter Terminal Shuttle System, Airfield Lighting, 3.3kV Chillers and Authorised person for Confined Spaces & Hot Works.
Ensured compliance with Safe Systems of Work including the issue, recording and audit of Confined Spaces, Electrical Safety Rules, Hot works etc records to ensure a reduction of accidents and
incidents. Review of SSoW to ensure safe working practices on site.

Technical lead for standby generator systems- 26 Standby Generators from 30KW – 1MW and the LV network( Service, Fault Finding, Installation and Commissioning). Maintenance of: Control Systems, Foul and surface water Pumping stations, Balancing ponds and Environmental compliance, Water drainage and treatment facilities, Security Barriers including Avon PAS 68 High Security, Street Lighting and Furniture, and also involved in Induction lighting energy saving project.
