The cottage stands in a private and elevated position in Manor Street which leads down to the River Dart . Rosemary Cottage is a Grade II listed building dating from the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th centuries and is built mainly from Devon cob . Rosemary Cottage stands in large , private gardens to the front , side and rear of the house , of lawn , flower beds , terraces and sloping orchard . Two steps lead from the street to the front path . A porch shelters the front door , a stable door which in turn opens into the living room . The ceilings are low and display original wooden beams .
