RED ADMIRAL
Red admirals are highly adaptable butterflies, recognized by their dark wings banded with vivid red-orange stripes and white spots. Their caterpillars feed primarily on nettles, weaving protective shelters from leaves. Adults are strong, erratic fliers and are often seen basking in sunny spots or sipping sap and overripe fruit. Known for their curiosity, red admirals sometimes land on people, making them a favorite among gardeners and hikers.
