T he S tory B ehind O ur M ake a B ook P roject
Our JCSP librarian found a copy of a play written by students. We had no idea of when
it was written. We thought initially that is was written in the 1980s. Gráinne one of
our SNAs who is a past pupil of St. Paul’s thought that she recognised some of the
characters (names) in the original play as being friends of her brother. She checked and
it was confirmed that it was a writing project done with 1L in 1993 with their teacher
Mrs. Bates.
We read the play just out of curiosity and then when we heard about the Make a book
project Jamie suggested that why not try to write the next bit of the story. Luke came
up with the name for the next act and

Act 1 was written sometime in 1993 by students unfortunately who will remain
anonymous for now. Act 2 was written by First year students in 2018. The themes of
friendship and loyalty will always be important in the lives of young people. But
unfortunately bullying also still persists. But don’t despair, there is always a vacancy for
a hero, even if it is a supernatural one!!
