ROLAND-STORY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT FEBRUARY, 2014 CLASSES WITH MR. BOWMAN: American Government - Psychology In American Government we have covered lots of ground. We started with the Constitutional era, which included material on the French and Indian War, the American Revolution and the Constitutional Convention. We then covered the Legislative Branch and in the last few weeks we have been analyzing the role of government from the standpoint of what level of government involvement is the most desirable as balanced against individual freedoms and responsibility. In Psychology, we have focused on the history and founders of this field together with an building an understanding on three main " schools " of Psychology. We have done research into specific areas of this study along with 5-6 case studies. Students should have gained insight into how the brain functions and why humans behave the way they do. Treatment options for disorders have been covered as well. In Government in the second semester we will cover the Executive Branch, The Judicial Branch and State government and the Criminal Justice system. WORLD HISTORY & HUMANITIES WITH MR.
