Catching sight of a bear is an awe-inspiring experience . Here , the mountains are home to up to 60 black bears and cubs . Spot them safely on one of Whistler Blackcomb ’ s guided tours , which traverse the bears ’ natural habitats in 4x4 vehicles . Alpine adventurers may also spot deer , squirrels , eagles , and the marmots whose whistling call gave Whistler its name .
