VANCOUVER AQUARIUM
Tucked away in Stanley Park is one of
the city’s splashiest attractions. The
Vancouver Aquarium is home to thou-
sands of mesmerizing ocean creatures.
Visit the touch pools to get hands-on
with sea stars, anemones and urchins.
Reserve an animal encounter to meet a
trainer and get up close to a sea otter,
sea lion, sea turtle or stingray. The
popular After Hours evening events are
for adults only.
FIRST NATIONS
Vancouver is located on the traditional
unceded territories of the Musqueam,
Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
To see magnificent collections of
Northwest Coast First Nations art, visit
the Bill Reid Gallery or the Museum of
Anthropology at UBC. Contact Takaya
Tours to experience the culture, tradi-
tions and history of the Tsleil-Waututh
First Nation. Canada’s first aboriginal
arts hotel, Skwachàys Lodge boasts a
rooftop totem pole, a traditional smudge
room and a sweat lodge, in addition to
the 18 hotel rooms, each of which is de-
signed around a unique art installation.
SCIENCE wORld
Vancouver’s most recognizable building
is the geodesic dome that houses
Science World. This science-themed
attraction is popular with youngsters,
oldsters and everyone in-between,
because it uses hands-on exhibits to
make learning fun. Adults-only evening
events feature topics such as the science
of cocktails. The OMNIMAX Theatre
shows IMAX films on a five-storey-high
dome screen.
