AMERICAN COCKROACH
(sp. Periplaneta americana)
It was introduced to the Americas from
Africa in the early 1600’s. This has to be
the ugliest Cockroach in the World, and
what makes it even worse is the fact that
it can fly...and...and it will find you!
LORE: For its size, the American Cockroach can run at the human equivalent of
more than 200 mph.
GERMAN COCKROACH
(sp. Blattella germanica)
The smaller and more common species.
They are the most difficult to get rid
of, as they appear to be quite resilient
against insecticides
LORE: The German Cockroach is
known to give off an unpleasant odor
when frightened.
ORIENTAL COCKROACH
(sp. Blatta orientalis)
Up to an inch long, these are more
common around the mulch pile, as
they prefer a constantly warm and
wet environment. They’re usually
found outside, and what makes them
even better is that they don’t fly.
