Rockin Rogers to provide family fun during community night
Rockin Rogers will start off the annual festival with a community night on Thursday , June 20 , at the Rogers Community Center , 21201 Memorial Drive . Families can stop by from 5-7 p . m . to listen to some family-friendly tunes and get their fill of free activities that will provide fun for the whole family .
The free event will feature pony rides , face painting , fun hair by the Rogers Ambassadors , fishing games , and other assorted activities for the family .
Music will be provided by The Jolly Pops kids
band , a musical group founded by Billy Hartong includes a fun atmosphere of music , learning and movement .
The band features dads that love to play music for kids and provide an awesome good time .
Puppet friends will join in on the fun , so don ’ t miss out on catching Bacon the pig , Chompy the alligator , Michael the “ not so scary monster ,” Jaque the magic peacock and if you ’ re lucky maybe you ’ ll see a rare sighting of Bingo The puppets tag along before , during and after the show to guarantee a smile . KidSight vision screening will also be available . The Lions Club ’ s KidSight USA program focuses its work on children aged six months to six years and will provide the eyesight screening for free . The screening is fast and effective , picking up vision problems in just seconds .
The Rogers Fishing Team will have anglers who will demonstrate casting and offer entertaining fishing games . Make sure kids don ’ t miss out on the Pedal Tractor Pull by River Valley Pedal Tractor Pulls . Kids will have the chance to win trophies according to age groups .
Have any kiddos that want to see a police car or firetruck ? There will be a firetruck and police car on-site for attendees to explore .
Pony rides will be provided by Ponies Pets N Parties , so kids can saddle up and enjoy the ride .
