Vroom! Vroom! With Rockford Reformed Church’ s Pinewood Derby
Children need opportunities for church activities that are fun and welcoming. That’ s why Rockford Reformed Church has been hosting its annual Pinewood Derby for over a decade. This popular annual event is for first through fifth graders who attend Pioneer Club, RRC’ s Wednesday night programming that runs September through March.
Brenda VanderHeide, Pioneer Club coordinator, says the youngsters create and draw their own design, and then sand, paint, and decorate their cars. Family and friends are invited to the friendly competition.
“ We race all the cars for fun. It’ s really an outreach program for our community,” VanderHeide says.
The Pioneer Club is one of the many ways that RRC has been helping people learn about God and connect to Jesus for more than 50 years.

Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church has been in the Rockford area since 1988 reaching out to area residents with the good news of Jesus Christ.
All are welcome at this church. Worship services take place on Sundays at 8:30 & 10:45 a. m.( 10 a. m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and Thursday at 7 p. m. Bible classes for all ages take place on Sundays at 9:45 a. m. throughout the school year. Preschool classes are offered for 3 and 4 year olds. They also host a weekly Sunday Night Youth Group from 6-9 p. m. for 8th through 12th graders.

River Rock Church – Prayerfully Connecting Growing & Serving
The mission of River Rock Church is to prayerfully connect to Jesus, grow in Jesus and serve with Jesus.
