Metal Hammer's Top 50 Albums of the Decade

One of the most important magazines in the UK, Metal Hammer, made a list of the "Top 50 Albums of the Decade". The readers of the magazine were an important part because their votes decided the included albums.

1. Machine Head - The Blackening

The album of the American band was the indisputable winner. Why? The answer is simple: a good structure, and excellent musical and lyrical content. In other words, the 'Master of Puppets' of the modern age.

Commented Machine Head vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn: "This is just unbelievable. It's mind-blowing for us, because there have been some amazing albums over the last ten years. To think that ours is number one to people is kind of hard to get your head around".

10. Tool – Lateralus

11. Iron Maiden – A Matter of Life and Death

12. Motörhead – Motorizer

13. Trivium – Ascendancy

14. Nightwish – Once

15. Opeth – Blackwater Park

This Swedish band is listed in both 15th and 32nd places. Certainly both albums can be called "masterpieces".
