Ancient Bards A New Dawn Ending Rocío Echávarri (Deuzzy) / Translation: Manuel Ocaña Palacios Almost four years have passed since I dedicated one of my first reviews to a group of Young Italians that had caught my attention for their musical concept, it was centered in a saga of epic style, born from the composer and keyboardist Daniele Maza; and in the voice the different and particular style of Sara Squadrani. As we know, telling a story in several episodes through the music is not something new, we have many examples, that’s why Ancient Bards gambled in the interest that they would generate with their interpretative and musical proposal. This was a risky bet if we take into consideration that this scene is demanding and in ungrateful in some occasions, when not even the greatest are safe of succumbing for the pressure or indifference. But this guys didn’t stopped and with those characteristics guts they overcame the obstacles that were in front of them and today, with particular pride from myself, I have the honor of review their third production that constitutes the final of the first part of The Crystal Sword Saga: A new Dawn Ending. This disc represents a culminating point in the growth and development of Ancient Bards, which started to be notorious since Soulless Child. The style is totally defined by the talent of each one of its members who have formed a big unit; the lyrics, music and arrangements of Daniele, the impressive and energetic rhythm of Federico, the impressive and melodious riffs of 14
