In Memoriam

On the morning of June 8, I came across news
that I could not and did not want to believe,
André Matos had passed away. Until then, the
causes that produced such an unexpected
outcome were still unknown, especially
because just a few days before, André had a
memorable encounter with Tobias Sammet
at the last presentation of Avantasia in
Brazil. In it, Matos was jovial and full of life.
Days later his heart, his big heart would
fail and André went on to immortality.
André Matos had a privileged voice, an
enormous talent as a musician and
