E
very time I hear about a band with folk style, I imagine that those
folk elements are the ones that predominate in the sound of that
band, which is not inherently bad, but it is very frequent. However,
while listening to the new album by the Argentine band Zaedyus, I
realized that the South American folk sound is very well fused with
the progressive style that the band achieves, in a way, it is not openly
noticed, but you know and feel that it is there. What I just wrote may
sound a bit strange, but you would have to listen to it to get it.
Zaedyus, created and directed by the composer and drummer Ale
Brukman, began its history in 2005 but it was until 2011 that they
released their first conceptual album Patagonia, and later in 2013 their
second album, conceptual as well, Santos Vega. These two albums were
well received by the public and specialized critics. After a series of shows,
Zaedyus returned to the studio and releases its third album, Stories From
the End of the World.
