The fire of Mondariz is
uncontrolled
The flames have surprised the neighbours of Mondariz, who have
gradually abandoned the area. The fire, that is still uncontrolled, has
swept over 120 hectares. Under the circumstances it is believed that
it has been done in purpose. The fire (level "2"), has forced more than
fifty neighbors of the locality to evacuate. Ambulances were moved to
the place to assist cases of respiratory problems as a result of the
intense smoke and flames in the area because there were so many
old people. The fire started at 18:17 hours last Sunday. In order to
control the fire a technician, 8 agents, 25 brigades, 16 motor pumps,
4 shovels and a tractor have been working. The troops of the AUME,
the Military Emergency Unit and Civil protection are also acting,
according to Rural needs.
