Gertude Ederle

Our gal Gertrude was the first woman to swim the across the English Channel! What guts she had to not only do what has never been done before, but to outperform all the men that did the exact same thing! Isn’t she a doll? Our Gertrude stuck with her passion even if it caused harm to her health because she loved it! Don’t believe me? It’s true! When she was still a baby doll, Gertrude had a hearing problem and her doctor warned her against swimming, but did our gal listen? No! And we’re glad she didn’t!

Check out The Jazz Singer directed by Gordon Hollingshead and Alan Crosland. It stars Swedish actress Greta Garbo. If you haven’t checked her out you should!

Babe Ruth

As for the guys…you all know him…he hits about 22 balls per season…best baseball player to have lived in our time…it’s Babe Ruth! Our undisciplined sports hero is already a legend. That’s how good he is! Not even dead, and already a legend! He was also a pioneer in his sport. Ruth perfected the new “big bang” style. What a guy!
