Parka (Layer 6) This expedition-style heavy parka should extend below the waist and must have an insulated hood. We recommend down rather than synthetic fill as down weighs less. The parka does not have to be waterproof, though that is a nice feature. Why a Parka? Look for the thickest down parka you can find and make sure that you can wear it over most of your other layers. You\'ll end up wearing your parka in camp and at meals when the temperatures drop. Getting it big allows you to move around comfortably.
