TOP PLAYERS

Cristiano Ronaldo:

Ronaldo could not have asked for a better start. His performance crowned him as the game's MVP, it was an easy pick given his performance. Scoring two goals in the final puts him 6 goals behind Raul as the all time top scorer in European competitions with 70 goals. The Portuguese machine has just doubled his chances in the Ballon D’Oro race. It’ll be a shocker not seeing him win his 3rd golden ball, but with FIFA, expect the unexpected.

Toni Kroos:

The German crack did not disappoint in his debut as he controlled the midfield from the first minute. We are yet to see the best of him but he gave us preview of what he’ll be showing us during the season. Aside from Ronaldo, he was arguably the best player on the field yesterday.

Gareth Bale:

Coming home to win a trophy could be the best thing Bale can wish for. With the great preseason he had, we are promised to see the best out of Gareth Bale. He gave Seville defense all sorts of problems, creating chances, opening up spaces, and shots. Bale assisted Ronaldo with the first goal and could have had a couple more assists if chances were finished by James, Ronaldo and Benzema.
