Now, don’t get me wrong. We did not play well overall and I take nothing away from what I see as a very deserved title for Atletico Madrid who, even though had a lot of changes to their team during the summer transfer window, were still able to come out strong due to a certain Diego Simeone who really knows how to manage his team. They came out fighting and used both legs to show everyone that last season simply wasn’t a fluke and they should not be counted out for the long season ahead. Both teams had their ups and downs during the matches but it was Atletico Madrid who were able to take advantage of Real Madrid’s mistakes during both legs. Congratulations to them for a great job and a deserved title.
This loss was necessary in my opinion because Real Madrid really needed to be brought back down to Earth and it’s good that this happened before the actual season really began. We were never invincible nor will we ever be that way. We need to accept that anything is possible in the beautiful world of football. With that said, whoever counts us out after this loss really have no idea what we are capable of and, just like every single time, we will come out fighting hard because we are Real Madrid and we never give up.
I leave you with this now: Hala Madrid y Nada Mas.
