- James has been married since 2011 to Daniela Ospina Ramirez, younger sister of goalkeeper David Ospina - James fell in love with her despite only communicating through phone and internet at first
- James' daughter was born on May 2011. He has his daughter's name tattooed on his right arm which he kisses after every goal
- At 17, he became the youngest foreigner to debut in the Argentinean league with Banfield.
- James debuted with his national team on October 11, 2011 in a win over Bolivia during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
