A CONCOURS OF CHAMPIONS
A sunny celebration of automotive excellence as the Royal Automobile Club Concours returned for year two.
Some events take years to find their footing. In its second year, this one found its stride in a single afternoon. When the gates closed on the 2026 Club Concours, the numbers told their own story: nearly 2,400 members and guests had wandered the grounds of Woodcote Park to admire an eclectic mix of more than 270 cars and motorcycles. And yet, for all that scale, nothing about the day felt crowded, rushed or anything less than effortless – which is precisely the trick of a concours that knows what it’ s doing.
For a Club whose roots are so firmly planted in motoring history, there was something particularly fitting about bringing such a broad collection together. The Veteran Car Run celebrates the earliest days of motoring and the pioneering machines that made the automobile a reality; the Club Concours takes that story forward, showing just how far the motor car has travelled since those first machines took to the road.
That’ s a remarkable claim for an event only in its second year, but the 2025 edition already picked up the International Historic Motoring Awards’‘ Breakthrough Event of the Year’, and this outing suggested the accolade was no fluke. Seven classes carried visitors from pre-war elegance through legendary racers to modern supercars and one-off coachbuilt curiosities, judged by a panel including Ian Callum CBE, Peter Stevens and Richard Hammond.
