Overall Concours winner was a beguiling 1927 Bentley 3-litre, owned by the Jaques family, its unique Martin-Walter-built body magnificently restored.
The Bentley had been entered into the Coachbuilder’ s Art category of cars with individually handmade bodies. This was one of six classes, with an additional one for motorcycles.
In the Grand Tourers category, Gale Barton’ s Bristol 406S took top honours, while in the Riviera category for glamorous convertibles the judges picked a
1938 Talbot Lago owned by Felix and Toby Ross. Lord Bamford’ s Ferrari 166, top choice among the Mille Miglia cars in contention, was just as exciting, if considerably more powerful.
Jody Klein’ s Rolls-Royce Phantom V once owned by Beatle John Lennon was adjudged the best of the Limousines. Meanwhile, the highly evocative 1902 Napier D45 Tonneau owned by Clive Boothman was crowned class winner among the veteran cars in the Pioneers category.
Expertise among the judges was world-class, they included designers Marc Newson CBE RDI and
