The who ’ s who of RM Nikita Beresnev
Nikita Beresnev has recently been appointed the Director of Revenue Management at The Amora Jamison Hotel in the Sydney central business district . Prior to this appointment he held the position of Revenue Manager at the PARKROYAL Parramatta , where he worked for the last two years .
He started his passion for hospitality whilst studying at the International College of Management Sydney , graduating with a Bachelor of Business , Hospitality and Tourism and later completed his Masters of International Business at Macquarie University .
Nikita started his career working as a porter at the Shangri-La Hotel , Sydney during his university years . After completing his studies he joined Radisson Blu Plaza as a Night Manager , moving to the role of Duty Manager within two years . Nikita then decided to further his career and move away from hotel front of house operations and joined the PARKROYAL Darling Harbour team as the Reservations Supervisor . He was quickly promoted to Reservations Manager in recognition of his achievement and expertise . Not long after this appointment an opportunity presented itself to become the Revenue Manager at the PARKROYAL Parramatta .
Working behind the scenes did not divert Nikita from his customer focus . You could often see him in Front Office , where he assisted with guest enquiries and conducted regular training of front office associates . Becoming removed from face to face contact and not receiving regular guest feedback was the biggest challenge initially for Nikita , as maximising revenue and customer service does not always go hand in hand . He believes that positive reviews and word of mouth from exceptional customer service is the best-selling technique for a reservations team and the dollars will follow straight after . According to Nikita , Revenue Management is a very straight forward profession , which can be easily measured with simple numbers , such as total revenue and STR position . Achieving the targets set by the General Manager and the corporate office is the best reward Revenue Managers can have , as the time spent on strategies and analysis show tangible results . Nikita continues to thrive for excellence in his field with a passion for revenue management and the hospitality industry . He was recently awarded the Revenue Management Associate / Manager award at the HM Awards held at the Sydney Town Hall on September 4 th , 2015 . This is the first time this award was included at this event and was sponsored by ARMA for industry . Nikita shared this achievement with Jason Rangel , Revenue Manager at Novotel Sydney Central who was also an award recipient in this category .
