RM Magazine - Autumn 2015 Revenue Management volume 3 | Page 3

FROM THE ARMA Welcome ARMA commenced the first quarter with a busy schedule continuing visiting industry across the country. Following on from the success of our Checking in with RM industry event in Melbourne late last year we visited Perth on 4 March and held a full day conference at the Mantra on Hay. Thank you to our friends Dr Paul Whitelaw from the William Angliss Institute, Ted Horner of E Horner & Associates Pty Ltd, and Matthew Burke from STR Global for your fantastic sessions. Also a huge thanks to our Industry Partner the Accommodation Association of Australia and supporter GTA (powering Global travel). Late March featured Checking in with RM, Sydney at the Amora Hotel Jamison. Look out for the feature in this issue regarding this event. This year ARMA is excited to have launched YieldMAX™ – The Revenue Management Simulator which is a fantastic training tool for employees to understand how to maximise revenue out of the same demand base. In conjunction with YieldMAX™ we have launched YieldLMS.com™ our revenue management learning management system with over 20+ courses for non-members. Members receive access at preferred pricing through the member services area of our website. Our learning management platform is regularly updated and employees have access to skilled industry trainers for course support. This issue also features STAAH (www.staah.com). An exciting organisation with some great products for industry supporting revenue management goals. ARMA has formed a partnership with STAAH as their preferred supplier of RM education and support for their clients. ARMA members also receive excellent rates on STAAH products. Be sure to visit their website and take a look. ARMA have been invited to speak at the YesBookIT Conference at Rydges World Square in May to discuss Revenue Management in the Holiday Rental Industry. This is a wonderful opportunity and an area ARMA has been doing a lot of work in. We are looking forward to meeting with industry at that event. The who’s who in RM feature this issue is a really interesting piece on Matthew Rutherford, Director of Yield Management and Market Planning P&O Cruises and Cunard, Carnival Australia. Matthew has worked for a diverse range of organisations in revenue management and we are thrilled to have him as an Industry Advisory Panel member. Lastly ARMA would like to thank its Industry Advisory Panel for their contribution thus far to industry generated questions in the revenue management space. Our members really value the opportunity to pose questions to such a high level cross section of industry leaders and consider a range of views on topical issues. With winter approaching be sure to check out another ARMA favourite Rustic Pumpkin Soup on page 29, a winner in every household this winter and one the everyday chef in all of us can manage – super easy!
