INTERVIEW Did you imagine all the locations in the film while writing the script or did the locations inspire you? I did imagine most of the locations while writing the script, and then when I went to location scout, I was surprised by how the locations almost presented themselves to me. It was quite surreal at times. I drove into a small town and ate a diner with my production designer, and I said to her, “See our waitress? She is exactly how I want the character of Misti to look.” And then when the waitress gave us our bill at the end of the meal, it was signed with her name and a heart around it, and her name was Misti. I knew this was the town I wanted to shoot in after that moment. But, what drove you to Nevada in August’s scorching heat? I can only laugh in retrospect, as I think it can only be my insanity that led me to shoot there in August. I wanted to feel the drastic heat of the desert on the lens. While the film looks and feels the way I had hoped and imagined, shooting in Nevada in the dead of summer is something I will never do again. It was a terrible idea and most of us went to the hospital.  I feel very thankful that I had such an amazing cast and crew who were ready to go the distance with me. And they did.  Senaryoyu, filmde
