It has come to the end of my final project for level 3 fashion retail; cool Britannia. Overall it has been an enjoyable project, but has had its challenges throughout.
Since writing my INP, there has been changes to my original plan throughout the project from time management to the type of work completed for the concept of the project. Firstly I didn’t keep as well to my time plan due to overriding work and changes and developments within work for the project. After Easter was the time frame of where I fell behind work and realising certain aspects I wanted to carry out wasn’t achievable or didn’t coordinate with other pieces of work. For example for marketing and communications I was going to complete a set up Instagram visual, by me making a mock up account on the platform. However it was advised by lecturers of the FRA not to do so for copyright reasons. But expanding on that concept, I did come to the realisation that promotion on my brands own social media platforms, and the collaborative celebrity would be more beneficial due to the followers they already have gained within the
public eye. In addition I also decided to include a pop up store concept due to Rixo not having a physical store, to insure my project covered all appropriate bases.
In contrast I do feel certain aspects of the project did go well such as using my creative skills on editing software, including creating mood boards and visual concepts on Joomag. In addition I feel this is the a certain part of the work I enjoy completing the most and relating it back to the PFBR side of the work. To represent my work I also was planning to put everything onto Pathbrite, however was advised to keep all my work on one platform to present. In turn I decided to put all my work apart from research into my Joomag, in which was originally going to be my online sketchbook portfolio for any visual work. But I do feel this has improved my work and made my project more consistent throughout. Likewise as well as any digital creative work, I really enjoyed shooting for my photoshoot. I feel I had a strong plan and a great outcome with professional images produced which I feel was then able to be edited well into the theme of the brand.
However my biggest difficulty I came across in the whole project was when I tried to insert a PDF file into my Joomag which concluded in losing a substantial work from Joomag. Luckily I had previously backed up any work, in which meant I needed to then re insert work and write additional annotations in Joomag back onto the platform. This overall took time away from my project but it was more beneficial to read back through work and develop further on any ideas and the way I presented my final project.
As for smart targets I feel I did kept up on the work needed to be completed each week consistently, until nearing the end of the project when my time scale and work load became irrational from changes and loss of work. I personally think to improve I need to be more organised in the way I work and plan out properly what work I want to complete and if it is achievable. Overall I feel I have produced good quality work with me developing my skills and expanding on my industry knowledge.
